About this spiced pear martini
If you like easy drinks and you like pears then this spiced pear martini is for you. I love pears and I think they are a delicious Fall fruit.
For me, pears taste great in so many Winter and Fall recipes. From cocktails, like in this recipe or in desserts like my pear frangipane tart.
I also like easy cocktail recipes. From my gin gimlet, French gimlet , Grapefruit gin and tonic, Baileys milkshake and now this pear martini, there are only a few ingredients you will need to make it and it is so big on flavor.
The simple syrup in this pear martini adds a lot of the flavor to this pear cocktail and it is very easy to make.
Ingredients in this pear martini
- A good quality vodka like Grey Goose Vodka, Absolut Vodka or Titos Vodka.
- Pear liqueur. This is not the same as pear cognac. Pear liqueur can be found in most liquor stores. If you have pear vodka you can use this in place of the vodka and pear liqueur in the recipe.
- Pear simple syrup. Recipe below!
- Fresh lemon wedges.
All of these ingredients in this pear martini are easily available in all liquor stores. The only thing you will need to make is the pear simple syrup.
This syrup is very easy to make and can be made ahead of time!
The spiced pear simple syrup
The spice flavor in this spiced pear martini comes from the cinnamon that is added when making the simple syrup. You can spice this martini up even more with a tablespoon of freshly grated ginger.
Ginger and pear are a great combination and would be really delicious with this pear cocktail. If you do decide to add ginger, just add it to the simple syrup (steeping portion of the simple syrup) and strain it out before using.
This is your drink so make it the way you will love it! This drink is great as is or with additional spices added.
Ingredients for the pear simple syrup
- Fresh pears. You can use frozen and thawed pears as well.
- Granulated sugar.
- Cinnamon.
- Water
I really love making the simple syrup ahead of time. This simple syrup stores really well in the fridge for up to one week.
Make a lot of it during the holiday season because it goes so well in so many drinks 🙂
How to make the simple syrup for this pear martini:
Combine all of your simple syrup ingredients in a small sauce pan and bring to a gentle simmer. Once the sugar completely dissolves you take the simple syrup off of the heat and place a lid on top and let it rest.
You will want to plan ahead for this part since the syrup needs about an hour to rest and let the flavor from the pears infuse into the syrup.
The rest of the ingredients that you will need for the pear martini can be purchased at your local liquor store. This pear martini is as easy as adding the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shaking well.
How to make this pear martini
Once you have all of your ingredients ready for this pear martini, you are going to add your pear liqueur, pear simple syrup, vodka and fresh squeezed lemon to a cocktail shaker. Place the lid on tightly and shake well for one minute.
Pour into a martini glass that has been dipped into simple syrup then dipped into some sugar and garnish with a fresh sliced pear.
This spiced pear martini recipe really is the perfect Winter and Fall cocktail. It definitely deserves a spot on your table during the holidays and get togethers and everyone will love it.

This sounds delicious! I love ginger and if I want to add it, do I add to the simple syrup, or do I add it when I shake the cocktail ingredients?
Melissa says
Hi Stacey. Ginger is a great addition! I would add it to the simple syrup during the steeping and then strain it out 🙂

What do you do with the quarter lemon?
Melissa says
Hi Eileen.
You squeeze the lemon in at the end for a little brightness. This step is optional but it really elevates the drink 🙂
