This strawberries and cream dessert is a delicious and easy recipe that really takes advantage of fresh strawberries when they are in season. Once you try this simple no-cook dessert, I know you will be hooked.

Strawberries with cream poured over the top is my favorite simple dessert that uses fresh strawberries and fresh sweet cream and it is really delicious. I serve it at breakfast, for dessert, and even as a snack.
I enjoy making this no-cook dessert during the strawberry season here in Texas. Since there are not many strawberry fields around where I live, we have been growing our own in our garden.
While this easy strawberry dessert is the dessert served at Wimbledon, American farmers have been making this for generations.
To jazz things up in this recipe just a bit, I have added a little vanilla and just a pinch of powdered sugar to enhance the sweetness of the cream. Let me show you how easy it is to make!
Ingredients Needed

- Fresh strawberries. With the tops and greens cut off. Save those tops and make a strawberry tops syrup with them later!
- Heavy Cream. I like to use heavy whipping cream for this. Regular heavy cream will work well too.
- Powdered Sugar. It is helpful to sift the powdered sugar before adding it to the whipped cream so there are no lumps when you mix it into the cream. If you have access to really fresh cream, it will already be sweet and you may not need this. Taste your cream first and decide if it needs the sugar.
- Vanilla Extract. Vanilla brings out the sweetness of the cream.
How to make strawberries and cream
This strawberries and cream dessert is extremely easy to make in fact it is just assembling. Here are the steps:
- Slice strawberries into quarters and add to a bowl: I like to add fresh strawberries to individual bowls.
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla to cream and mix well.
- Pour cream over the strawberries: Pour the cream over the top of the strawberries right you are ready to eat.

Recipe Faqs
If you have leftover strawberries and cream, it is best to store the cream and strawberries separately in containers in the fridge. Assemble them when you are ready to eat.
Heavy cream from the store or fresh cream from a local farm are the best cream options to pair with strawberries.
Variations

This simple strawberry dessert is amazing as is but I sometimes change it up a bit for a change. You can also use a cream alternative like Kefir sweetened with sugar to make this healthier.

I just made something similar, for 2 of us, I halved a banana and sliced it in to long slivers, split that in the bottom of two bowls, then enough quartered strawberries to fill the bowls. The "cream" is a mixture of thick kefir sweetened with stevia and flavored with great vanilla. I have grown to far prefer that to cream.
