In a large bowl, add your flour, sugar, salt and baking powder and mix well.
1 cup All Purpose Flour, 1 tablespoon Baking powder, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Add one teaspoon of vegetable oil into the flour mix then mix well.
1 teaspoon Vegetable oil
Take ¼ cup of your warm water and add it to the dough.
1 cup warm water
Mix well.
The dough should be moist and not sticky.
If the dough is too dry, add a little more water and mix again. Keep doing this until the dough comes together.
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface.
Knead until the dough is smooth, adding more flour to your work surface if necessary.
Divide the dough into 5 sections.
Roll out each section as thin a possible without the dough tearing. Make sure the shape you roll fits into your pan!
Pre-heat your pan to medium heat.
Add a teaspoon of vegetable oil to your pan and brush it around.
Once the pan is pre-heated, place one of the rolled out pieces of flatbread on to the pan and cook for about 30 seconds to one minute or until you see bubbles form.
Once the bubbles have formed, flip your flatbread and cook the other side for another 30 seconds.
Remove the flatbread on to a plate and cover with a kitchen towel.
Repeat until all of the flatbread is cooked.
Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
Tips:
To add brushed butter to your flatbread after cooking just melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until melted. Once you have cooked the flatbreads, lightly brush the tops with some of the melted butter. Store under a kitchen towel when done.
