In a small bowl, combine your yeast with ¼ cup of warm water.
¼ cup warm water, 1 package of active dry yeast
Let the yeast and water mixture sit for about 10 minutes until the yeast starts to get foamy.
In a large bowl combine dry ingredients, except the baking powder.
2 cups All purpose flour, 2 tablespoon sugar, 1 teaspoon kosher salt
In a medium bowl mix wet ingredients.
1 ½ cup Whole Milk, 2 large eggs, 3 tablespoon melted unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
After 10 minutes, mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and yeast. except the baking powder (you will add this right before cooking).
Cover your batter with plastic wrap and let sit for at least one hour in a warm place in your kitchen. You can also make this batter the night before and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight.
Making the waffles
After an hour has passed, preheat your waffle maker on medium high heat.
At this point, add your ¼ teaspoon of baking powder into your batter and mix well.

When your waffle iron is pre-heated, scoop ⅓ cup of your batter into each of the waffle wells.
Wait 5 seconds after adding your batter and then close the waffle maker to cook the waffles.
Cook your waffles until golden brown.
Once your waffles are done, remove them from the waffle maker and place them on a cooling rack.
Continue to do this until all of your batter is used up.
